How Can I Help You Move Forward?

My practice is dedicated to solving the complex and ever-changing issues faced by the maritime and oilfield industries in the Gulf of Mexico and beyond. I believe the best legal representation results from candid discussion of the facts, thoughtful analysis, a full understanding of each client’s unique goals, and finding the creative solutions that will lead to successful outcomes. A zealous advocate for my clients, I am committed to keeping the business of the Gulf moving.

From Lugenbuhl’s New Orleans office, Lorin Scott advises clients in a broad range of corporate and commercial disputes, with a concentration in maritime litigation, including allisions and collisions and claims under General Maritime Law, the Jones Act, the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act and the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act, as well as construction litigation. She has assisted with numerous bench and jury trials in both federal and state courts and has handled multiple appeals to Louisiana appellate courts as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.

Lorin also assists clients in drafting charter party agreements, master service agreements and other transportation-related contracts, as well as advising on marine insurance, vessel documentation, finance, employment and more.

Outside the Office

An active member of the community, I am an ongoing supporter of Toys for Tots, the American Cancer Society and Special Olympics. When not in the office, you can find me catching up with friends at a local brewery, playing guitar, or watching true crime documentaries at home.
