Overview

Chris Salerno is an Associate in the New Orleans office specializing in Maritime and Defense Base Act (DBA) litigation.  Chris has experience researching and writing on cases related to insurance, admiralty, contracts, toxic tort, and bankruptcy, as well as participating in mediations and depositions.

During his time at Loyola University of New Orleans College of Law, Chris wrote an award-winning casenote on the Clean Water Act for the Loyola Law Review. Additionally, Chris’ comment for the Review centered on the evolving legal landscape for Special Education students, a subject near and dear to his heart as a former Special Educator. Prior to law school, Chris was a teacher and later an administrator at a number of New Orleans area public schools. Chris earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from Tulane University in 2013.

Chris is a member of the Louisiana Bar Association and the Federal Bar Association.

Outside the Office

Originally hailing from Boston, Chris’ journey in New Orleans began as a full-time volunteer worker in 2006 as part of the AmeriCorps response to Hurricane Katrina. What started as one year of service has grown into a career spanning nearly 20 years. Partnering with various New Orleans neighborhood and community organizations, Chris maintains a strong commitment and connection to the people of his adopted city.
