Overview

Born and raised in New Orleans, Michael E. Landis is dedicated to serving the needs of the city and its people. His extensive experience in commercial bankruptcy matters, representing debtors, trustees, committees, and creditors, he has been involved in every aspect of a bankruptcy case from filing the initial petition, first day motions, litigating contested matters, and confirming a plan.  He has also represented clients in post-confirmation issues, as well as out of court restructuring. 

Michael represents debtors in several industries, including oil and gas, quick service franchises, construction, maritime, and even churches. He is familiar with security rights of all interested parties.  Michael gained experience in bankruptcy starting in law school by earning the highest grade in Bankruptcy and Bankruptcy Reorganization Seminar.  He also gained experience working as an extern to the Honorable Douglas Dodd (ret).   

Outside the Office

Michael enjoys getting away to a long hike in our National Parks.  When he is in town, he enjoys walks with his dog, and enjoying the fine cuisine that New Orleans has to offer.  He also enjoys sitting at home and listening to his extensive music collection with a special interest in the Delta Blues.
