Lugenbuhl welcomes of counsel attorney Patricia Penton to its New Orleans headquarters. Her practice primarily focuses on toxic tort and occupational exposure claims at the trial and appellate levels.

Penton offers more than 35 years of legal experience, primarily in the insurance defense field at both the state and federal levels. Prior to joining Lugenbuhl, she served as a partner in the firm Lee, Futrell & Perles, where she worked extensively defending employers in workers’ claims of occupational disease and toxic exposure.

She also has significant experience with maritime litigation, including the Jones Act and longshore personal injury and death claims. Penton has filed limitation of liability actions on behalf of ship owners; prepared 8(i) settlements and time-charter agreements; pursued and defended maritime property damage claims; defended negligent hiring claims, oil spills, cargo loss claims and vessel construction disputes; and performed vessel seizures.

Penton has worked with foreign and domestic insurers, as well as numerous companies involved in shipbuilding, marine transportation, oil and gas, offshore oil exploration and production.
