Previously, he worked as an associate for Kinchen, Walker, Bienvenu, Bargas, Reed & Helm and also served as a law clerk for Presiding Justice Jess Dickinson at the Mississippi Supreme Court. In addition, Butterfield was an adjunct professor at Mississippi College School of Law.
As an insurance law attorney, Butterfield’s practice focuses on personal injury claims from both plaintiffs and defendants involving automobile accidents and premises liability. He also has extensive experience with commercial litigation involving small to mid-size institutions and state and local governments, including oral arguments before Louisiana’s First and Second Circuit Courts of Appeals.
Butterfield is a member of the Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel and the Defense Research Institute. He earned a history degree from Louisiana State University in 2010 and a law degree from Mississippi College School of Law in 2014. He is admitted to practice in all Louisiana and Mississippi state courts.
