Lugenbuhl shareholder Seth Schmeeckle and retired shareholder Ralph Hubbard III are recognized in a Loyola Law Review article authored by Magistrate Judge Joseph Wilkinson outlining the successful settlement of historic litigation that arose from Hurricane Katrina.

Mag. Judge Wilkinson’s article, “The Long Road Home: Mass Settlement of Katrina Homeowners Insurance Claims in Federal Court,” details the litigation history resulting from one of the worst natural disasters ever to hit the Gulf Coast, as well as aspects of the court’s settlement process.

Along with a small group of other attorneys, Schmeeckle and Hubbard are given principal credit for their roles in the successful Road Home settlement approval procedure. The attorneys worked with the court to bring “tens of thousands of Katrina-related insurance claims to resolution with balance, order, and relative speed and economy, given the extent of the challenge.”

Lugenbuhl thanks Mag. Judge Wilkinson for recognizing our hard-working attorneys for their efforts. View our Insurance practice to learn more about our firm’s services and experience in this area.
