Lugenbuhl offers clients experienced employment-law attorneys who represent employers in a variety of employment-law matters throughout Louisiana, Texas, and the southeast United States.
Our team helps clients find solutions to their employment-law matters using practical, common-sense approaches. Combining our employment-practice expertise with our broad experience in other practice areas to address employment-law matters, we give our clients an advantage.
Lugenbuhl’s attorneys who practice in the employment-law area represent clients in nearly every type of employment litigation, in both state and federal courts. We defend claims involving race, sex, age, and disability discrimination, as well as sexual harassment. We also handle matters involving employee benefits; wage-and-hour law; wrongful discharge; employment torts such as defamation, interference with contract rights, and intentional infliction of emotional distress; breach of contract including enforcement of confidentiality and noncompetition agreements; protection of clients’ trade secrets from theft or misuse by employees and competitors; workers-compensation matters; and the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974. In addition, we have experience in representing clients in arbitrations and mediations of employment-law matters.
We have represented employers before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the United States Department of Labor Wage and Hour Division, the Office of Homeland Security, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, and various other federal, state, and local government agencies.
Lugenbuhl also represents clients in a variety of employee-benefit issues, including ERISA matters such as benefit-plan litigation, COBRA matters, and design-of-severance plans, the interaction between the Family and Medical Leave Acts, the Americans with Disabilities Act, group health insurance, HIPAA compliance, retirement plans, and other employee benefits. We also assist in the design and drafting of employment contracts, including executive employment and consulting contracts.
Our attorneys also counsel employers on a variety of immigration-law matters, including I-9 compliance, immigration-act investigations, auditing, and national-origin-discrimination matters.
Lugenbuhl provides clients with counseling, compliance, and training programs. We work with our clients to resolve problems in all employment areas to help minimize the risks associated with their employment decisions.
