Stewart F. Peck was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on August 4, 1952. He did his undergraduate work at Kenyon College. While at Kenyon, he participated in the honors program in political science. He graduated in 1974 from Kenyon magna cum laude with distinction in political science and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He attended Case Western Reserve Law School in 1975 and received his law degree from Tulane University in 1977, where he was a member of Order of the Coif and the Tulane Law Review. Mr. Peck is a member of the New Orleans, Louisiana State and American Bar Associations, as well as the Commercial Law League. He is a member of the Louisiana Law Institute and is on the Advisory Committee, which helped to draft the Louisiana Oil Well Lien Law. Mr. Peck practices in areas of commercial law and litigation, marine finance, corporate mergers and acquisitions and bankruptcy law. He has handled numerous Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings as either debtor's or creditor's counsel. He has also been involved in initial public offerings and complex corporate mergers and acquisitions. He has been the lead trial counsel in over forty reported cases in both federal and state courts.
