Lugenbuhl, Wheaton, Peck, Rankin & Hubbard is pleased to welcome senior counsel attorney Michael McCoy to its Houston office. Focused on insurance coverage and litigation, and professional liability, he provides decades of experience and esteem to the firm.

Most recently, McCoy served as a partner of Jones Walker after nearly two decades with Fowler Rodriguez, where he gained a wide range of experience representing numerous clients in the insurance industry, including insurance brokers, claims administrators, reinsurance and retail partners.

His litigation experience includes liability, malpractice and a wide range of general insurance defense. He has handled first- and third-party cases, represented insurance carriers in extra-contractual litigation and presented cases before the Texas Insurance Commission. Also a frequent collaborator and speaker, McCoy has contributed to numerous publications and presentations on different aspects of insurance coverage and litigation.

After receiving an undergraduate degree from the University of Texas, McCoy earned his Juris Doctor from Baylor Law School, where he served as the associate editor of the Baylor Law Review and was named a member of Phi Delta Phi. He is admitted to practice law in Texas, including all U.S. District Courts in the state, as well as the Fifth and Eleventh Circuits of the U.S. Court of Appeals.
