Lugenbuhl shareholder Elia Diaz-Yaeger recently served as a panelist at the Hispanic National Bar Association’s 42nd Annual Convention in Kansas City, Missouri.
Her panel, titled “Bad Faith Nightmares: Recent Trends & Themes in Bad Faith and Extra-Contractual Insurance Litigation,” covered recent trends, themes, court decisions and strategies for litigating insurance bad faith and extra-contractual damages cases. The panelists discussed how best to navigate the dangers of broad bad faith discovery, allegations of improper claim handling, post litigation bad faith, fraud, institutional misconduct and similar claims. Joined by panelists from throughout the country, Elia provided tips to avoid, curtail and defend against bad faith and other high exposure claims and lawsuits including class actions and statutory unfair business practice actions targeting the insurance industry.
