Elements of the meeting included a presentation by U.S. Secretary of Labor Alexander Acosta, a focus on the SUCCEED Act and DACA, a presentation on trade and NAFTA, SMART Student Health and Wellness, Puerto Rico, tax reform and community engagement.
The task force comprises a prominent group of leaders from companies and organizations throughout the country who come together to analyze issues and policies affecting the Hispanic community, including those in the areas of education, economic development, employment and health. The task force provides guidance to Congress that has led to advances in addressing the needs of the nation’s Latino community.
