Lisa Brener was born on September 26, 1954. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Southwestern Louisiana, and received her Juris Doctor from Louisiana State University Law School in 1983, where she was made a member of the Order of the Coif, and received the American Jurisprudence Award for Excellence in Contracts. She completed her law studies at Tulane Law School with an LL.M. (Masters in Law) in International and Comparative Law. She has published articles in the Louisiana Law Review and the World Mediation and Arbitration Report. Ms. Brener served as career law clerk to Judge Morey L. Sear in the United States District Court, Eastern District. She is admitted to practice law in the state and federal courts of Louisiana, and to the United States Supreme Court. She has litigated numerous employment-related cases, including the litigation of discrimination cases and employment contract disputes. She is counsel to small and mid-sized businesses, providing them advice and representation in connection with formation documents, contracts, employee issues, and litigation. Further, she represents health care providers in medical malpractice litigation.
