Joseph Briggett obtained his Bachelor of Arts in English from Tulane University in 2003, during which time he competed nationally with the Tulane rowing team and studied abroad in Santiago, Chile. Mr. Briggett earned his law degree from Tulane University Law School in 2010, magna cum laude, and was one of ten students in his class named a National Member of the Order of Barristers for excellence in oral advocacy and brief writing. As a member of Moot Court Board, Mr. Briggett was the winner of Tulane Law School's Appellate Moot Court Competition in 2010, was a National Semifinalist in the 2010 National Environmental Law Moot Court Competition, and was named Best Oralist in the 2009 Tulane Interschool Moot Court Competition. As a member of the Tulane Environmental Law Journal, Mr. Briggett wrote three pieces that were selected for publication on issues ranging from oil and gas law to environmental bankruptcy, and served as Managing Editor. Mr. Briggett gained experience in the administration of bankruptcy cases when he was chosen to serve as Judicial Extern to the Honorable Jerry A. Brown, Bankruptcy Judge for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana, for the 2009-2010 academic year. Mr. Briggett's practice is focused on Bankruptcy and Commercial Litigation.
