Ms. Carter graduated from The University of Memphis in 2002 with degrees in Biology, Chemistry, and Spanish. Ms. Carter earned her law degree from Tulane University School of Law. While at Tulane, Ms. Carter served as an Articles Editor to the Tulane Law Review; was inducted into the Order of the Coif; received the 2007 Louisiana Bar Association Civil Law Award; received the Dean Rufus C. Harris Award for the Best Writing on a Civil Law Subject for her article entitled "Ghosts of the Past and Hopes for the Future: Article 466 and Societal Expectations," 81 Tul. L. Rev. 1665 (2007), Tulane Law Review Volume 81; received awards for receiving the highest grades in Civil Law Property I, Successions, Donations & Trusts, Louisiana Civil Procedure, and Louisiana Security Rights; served as research assistant to Professor A.N. Yiannopoulos; and served as a founding member and Treasurer of the Tulane Civil Law Society. Ms. Carter was a visiting student at Emory University School of Law in fall, 2005 as a result of Hurricane Katrina. Ms. Carter served as a judicial law clerk for Justice Betty Dickey, Arkansas Supreme Court (2005). Ms. Carter is currently pursuing an LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Alabama School of Law. Ms. Carter practices primarily in the areas of business and commercial law, corporate law, real estate and secured transactions, and trusts, estates, successions and probate.
