Stanley J. Cohn was born in Montgomery, Alabama, on October 17, 1955. He obtained his undergraduate degree (1978, B.A., cum laude) and law degree (1981, J.D.) from Tulane University where he was a member of Omicron Delta Kappa (President, two terms) and Kappa Delta Phi Honor Societies. He has held numerous leadership capacities with the New Orleans Bar Association (1984 Chairperson of the Young Lawyers Section; member of the Board of Directors, and Chairman of the Admiralty Law Committee). He has also held positions of leadership with the American Bar Association's Young Lawyers Section (1982-89) and General Practice Section (1990-Present). Additionally, Mr. Cohn is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel, Federal Bar Association, American Counsel Association (1997-98 President) and Maritime Law Association of the United States. Mr. Cohn is admitted to practice law in the state and federal courts of Louisiana. His practice involves general civil litigation, with an emphasis on business transactions, environmental, insurance and maritime matters.
