Elizabeth R. Carter was born in Denver, Colorado on June 4, 1980. Ms. Carter graduated from The University of Memphis in 2002 where she received a B.S. in Biology and Chemistry, magna cum laude, and a B.A. in Spanish, magna cum laude. Ms. Carter earned her law degree from Tulane University School of Law, magna cum laude, in 2007. While at Tulane, Ms. Carter served as an Articles Editor to the Tulane Law Review; was inducted into the Order of the Coif; received the 2007 Louisiana Bar Association Civil Law Award; received the Dean Rufus C. Harris Award for the Best Writing on a Civil Law Subject for her article entitled “Ghosts of the Past and Hopes for the Future: Article 466 and Societal Expectations,” 81 Tul. L. Rev. 1665 (2007), Tulane Law Review Volume 81; served as research assistant to Professor A.N. Yiannopoulos; and served as a founding member and Treasurer of the Tulane Civil Law Society. Ms. Carter was a visiting student at Emory University School of Law in fall, 2005 as a result of Hurricane Katrina. Ms. Carter served as a judicial law clerk for Justice Betty Dickey, Arkansas Supreme Court (2005). Ms. Carter currently serves at the Alumni Representative to the Tulane Civil Law Society. Ms. Carter was admitted to practice in Louisiana in 2007. Ms. Carter practices primarily in the areas of real estate, estate planning, probate, trusts, marine finance, corporate and business law.
